Winter Bulletin!

We all know about the snow removal mandate for sidewalks in Iowa City, but did you know that you can get FREE sand/salt nearby? 

The City provides a limited amount of salt and sand mix available at no charge to all Iowa City residents. The pile is located at the Streets Division parking lot, located off of South Gilbert Street in the parking lot at 3901 Napoleon Lane.

Iowa City residents should provide their own five-gallon bucket and shovel to obtain the mix, which is intended for local residential sidewalks, and not for commercial or contractor use. Materials will be replenished throughout the winter.
